St. Joseph’s Hospital, a healthcare institution of the Catholic Diocese of Mysore, located at Bannimantap, Mysuru, was envisioned by the late Most Rev. Dr. Mathias Fernandes, former Bishop of Mysore. The foundation stone for the hospital was laid by Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Roy, Bishop of Mysore, on 1st May 1998. The hospital building was subsequently blessed and dedicated to the service of the community by Most Rev. Dr. Thomas A. Vazhapilly, Bishop of Mysore, on 12th March 2008.

How we Started:
April -2008 – hospital opened

Dr. Placid Lasrado – Deputy Medical Superintendent

Dr. Gladys Rasquinha – Gynecologist
Dr. Xavier D’Souza – Urologist
With co -ordination of diocesan priests Fr. Mari Raj – Administrator, Fr. George Martiz- Director.
Started with laproscopic surgery with all the facility.
2011- January – Diocease took over hospital and they started to do changes and updated more facilities.
1st floor started to work – separation of FMG, MGW, spl ward, Semi Spl done.
DIALYSIS UNIT – Opened 2011, with two machines 2014-4, 2015-6 machines and we treat them with discounts. BPL card holders will have special discount.
CT UNIT- opened -2012 – GE machine with 2 slides.
New machine -semens 32 slides in the year 2021.
Schemes -2015 – RSBY, MSHS, ABY and yeshaswini started to work and medi Assist insurance started. After that one by one insurances tied up now we have 18 company’s insurances.
Physiotherapy unit started – august -2015 – sports medicine department opened.

2016- 18 – NABH process was done
2017 – LIFT facility done.
